ALPINE WOODSMOKE MANAGER’S BLOG – No 1
What a start to the season! Welcome readers and I hope our on the ground/snow updates help you plan a luxury holiday skiing experience staying with us.
Lots of snow leading up to the weekend and Mouse Trap opened with a few keen skiers trying their skill on Wombats Ramble (closed officially) on the opening long weekend. Alpine Woodsmoke guests were able to walk up to Wombats Ramble and ski down to Halley’s comet lift. The usual road clearing was done and the entrance to the Alpine Woodsmoke underground carparks (Tree Tops and Valley Views buildings) was easy for guests to enter.
While the temperature dropped below freezing the open fires in each apartment were cosy and relaxing to sit in front of and open a bottle of Campbell’s Bobbie Burns shiraz which was in each guests’ apartment. Friday and Saturday 19/20th more snow is forecast!!
www.fallscreek.com.au had a number of activities on for the long weekend as well as planned over next few weeks while we wait for the next Antarctic storm to dump snow.

Flower of the Alpine Sun – bathing in the fresh snow just near Cloud 9 helipad
Falls Creek’s newest sculpture is called the Flower of the Alpine Sun (FotAS). Created by internationally renowned urban sculptor Giovanni Veronesi, it is one of the highest-altitude public art installations in Australia, sitting at 1,750 metres above sea level.
Cloud 9 was very busy even though only one run was opened. Many people were looking out through the glass viewing area on the balcony.

Snow at mousetrap run – great start to season with a good base
Bookings are starting to fill for school holidays so we encourage you to book early to secure your luxury apartment accommodation. Foodworks are now selling Japanese style meals, roast chickens plus the usual main items needed so avail yourself of the convenience if you want to reduce time in the kitchen.
Happy skiing
