Whoever said you need metres of snow to have a good time at Falls Creek clearly hasn’t been here this week.
Sure, Mother Nature has been a little… selective with her deliveries, but the groomers have worked their magic and the skiing has been an absolute blast. Fast turns, bluebird moments, smiling faces and enough après stories to make it feel like the middle of peak season. It’s proof that great skiing isn’t measured by snow depth—it’s measured by the grin you wear at the bottom of the run.
The village has been buzzing with that unmistakable Falls Creek energy. Ski boots have clicked along the streets from first chair until well after last drinks. The Chophouse karaoke has been doing what karaoke does best—turning otherwise sensible adults into rock stars. We’ve seen everything from heartfelt ballads to enthusiastic performances that should probably never be spoken of again. The best part? Nobody cares. That’s mountain life.
Now we’re rolling into one of our favourite weekends of the winter—Christmas in July.
Expect festive feasts, ugly Christmas jumpers, a healthy amount of tinsel and just enough Christmas spirit to make you forget it’s actually freezing outside. It’s one of those uniquely Falls Creek weekends where strangers become friends, locals become family and everyone’s here for a laugh.
So if you’ve been waiting for “more snow” before making the trip, consider this your gentle nudge. August however is set to deliver! So do not miss out.
The mountain is skiing well.
The bars are full.
The laughs are loud.
And winter is doing exactly what winter at Falls Creek does best—bringing people together.
We’ll see you on the slopes… and probably at karaoke belting out my signature Total Eclipse of the Heart tribute to Bonnie Tyler x
